Perez prepares two bombshells for Real Madrid fans in the next transfer window

Real Madrid continue to look to the future in an increasingly complicated market. The transfer policy of its president Florentino Pérez has changed since he went for promising young players who are giving good results. Players who now support the team like Valverde, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Militao or Tchouameni, among others.

But he has also resorted to recruiting players at zero cost who end their contracts with their clubs and decide not to renew. The president is pragmatic and moves away from “signing for signing’s sake”, and chooses players who are going to be profitable on and off the field.

Both policies have worked well for him, he has signed Alaba, Rüdiger and Mbappé at zero cost, and in exchange he rewards them with million-dollar bonuses. Bonuses that represent a saving compared to the cache they had on the market and that they should have paid to their clubs if they had a contract. Now he has two other targets for the summer of 2025, Alexander-Arnold and Alphonso Davies.

Both are out of contract next summer with Liverpool and Bayern Munich, respectively. The white club has followed their trajectories in recent years and has tested the availability of both to sign them. The fact that they have refused to renew until now is a symptom that they want to be free and choose a destination when their commitments expire. If they maintain this position, Madrid will open the doors to strengthen the squad.

The whites have been reinforcing lines year after year, slowly but surely, and now they set their sights on strengthening the two lanes. Both are well covered with Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez on the right and Mendy and Fran García on the left. However, the first three end their contracts in June 2025 and could leave their place to the Englishman and the Canadian. It is unlikely that Carvajal, 32, will leave, and that Lucas Vázquez, 33, will be the one to leave the team in exchange for the arrival of Alexander Arnold. Even so, Lucas is a versatile player, from the house, who could continue despite the arrival of the Englishman.

On the other side, Ancelotti is betting on the renewal of Mendy, who rejected a first offer, in a negotiation that is still open. If the Frenchman delays the response and Davies confirms that his desire is to end up wearing white, the club could withdraw from the negotiations, give up on the attempt to renew and make room for the Canadian. There are many months left, but the arrival of Davies is a priority. If Mendy renews, Fran García would be the one sacrificed.
