Guardiola shocked after his favourite player close to signing for Real Madrid

Spanish network Defensa Central claimed that Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, is shocked that one of his favorite City players is close to signing for Spanish club Real Madrid.

Real Madrid seeks to strengthen its team with more deals after announcing the joining of Mbappe and completing the signing of Endrick and their presentation to the public earlier.

Florentino Perez and Ancelotti are seeking to avoid the dilemma that Real Madrid suffered from last season when the entire defence suffered injuries that put the team in a critical situation.

So, the White team is looking for a defender with great experience to sign with in the current summer market and the choice fell on Aymeric Laporte who currently plays for the Saudi Al-Nasr Club.

Laporte moved from Manchester City to Al-Nassr last year in a deal estimated at 30 million euros, against the wishes of his coach, Pep Guardiola.

It was Guardiola who brought Laporte to City from Athletic Bilbao in a huge deal for €65m and he was one of his favourite players throughout his time at the Etihad.

Defensa Central says that the rumours about Laporte possibly signing for Real Madrid did not please the Spanish coach at all. The fact that he left the English club to earn more money in Saudi Arabia and is now willing to take a pay cut to go to Madrid has disappointed him.

The Spanish international would be happy to join Real Madrid, return to Spain and play for the best club in the world. He regrets going to Saudi Arabia, as he is not happy in the country.

He is tempted by the Madrid project and would be willing to significantly reduce his salary to fit into the Whites’ salary scale. Real Madrid will only sign him if he can break his relationship with Al-Nassr.
