Barcelona and Juventus reach final agreement: Chiesa for Olympic champion

All roads lead to Turin. Federico Chiesa has already vacated his locker at Juventus and will therefore travel to Barcelona during the week to sign for Barça. This is reported by the Italian newspaper ‘Tuttosport’, which speaks of an agreement between both clubs for Federico Chiesa.

“Today the player emptied his locker at Continassa. The official announcement could come on Wednesday or Thursday, given that the Catalans must make room for him in the wage bill, having to respect the strict rules of La Liga,” explains the Italian newspaper.

Barça, for its part, continues to resolve problems with the registration of players, such as that of Dani Olmo, pending whether he will be present in Tuesday’s match against Rayo.

The signing of Federico Chiesa is about to be closed. The Italian winger, who has an agreement with Barça, is still waiting for the Catalans to resolve the issues related to the wage bill. According to the same source, Barça and Chiesa agreed on a three-year contract for 6 million euros per season (4 million euros as a base plus 2 additional bonuses), and a possible option to extend the contract for a fourth season.

It is also a double agreement for agent Fali Ramadani, who also wants to place another of his players in Barcelona, right-back Marc Pubill, captain of the Spanish Olympic team that recently won the gold medal in Paris 2024. Juve would take around 12 million euros, the figure in which Chiesa appears on the Italian team’s balance sheet. Therefore, there would be no loss in value compared to Juventus’ profits (loss of value). In addition, Juve would thus save the almost 11 million euros gross of his salary.

An agreement that would benefit both clubs: the ‘bianconeri’ would obtain a profit for a player who is already out of Thiago Motta’s schemes and whose contract ended next year. For Barça, they would bring in a top winger at low cost after the failed attempt to sign Nico Williams.
