Despite the big win.. Laporta reveals disaster for Barcelona after Villarreal clash
Marc-André ter Stegen’s injury marred FC Barcelona’s resounding win over Villarreal at La Cerámica.
The German goalkeeper’s feelings after the first examinations are very negative (everything points to him missing the rest of the season due to a torn patellar tendon) and, evidently, the faces of the Barça expedition were very long when it came to leaving the stadium.
Joan Laporta was particularly affected in a brief interview with the media in which, in addition to confirming the information surrounding Ter Stegen’s torn patellar tendon, he described the victory against Villarreal as “very sad”.
Without a doubt, three very expensive points for a Barça team led by Hansi Flick that remains unstoppable in LaLiga.
“Sad victory. It seems to be going that way,” said the Barça president, literally, when asked about Ter Stegen’s patellar tendon problems.
Pending further medical tests, everything seems to indicate that the German will not be able to play again this season.
