Ancelotti criticizes all Real Madrid players except one after defeat to Barcelona

Real Madrid lost the Spanish Super Cup after losing to Barcelona 5/2 in the final match held in Jeddah, and if it weren’t for Szczesny’s expulsion, the score might have been higher.

After the match, Ancelotti criticised his entire team and initially expressed his frustration, saying: “We have to look at the reality, we did not defend well on the opposite field or in our own area.”

“They scored too easily and we couldn’t work well collectively and individually, we lost too many duels. It leaves us frustrated, but that’s football,” he added.

He continued: “With the sadness we have to go home, we have to look forward, prepare for the next match, and regain the good dynamic we had until this match.”

He continued criticizing his players: “It is not necessary to mention anyone’s name. When I talk about players, I am talking about a complete team. They did not defend well, they were not cohesive. We have to defend better next time.”

But he excluded one player from that criticism when he said: “The only good thing was the match that Mbappe played, it was a very good match for him, he played a good match, he scored a goal, we have to forget the rest and look forward.”
